So we decided to get a few (in as three) more hens . After much searching I finally found a lovely gentalman selling some 20 week old pullets about a hour away from us . So we drove out there and they were just beautiful , so I ended up coming home with six . That's double . I've completely lost my mind I tell you .

Anyway , the new girls are home and getting settled in nicely .

I'm a little unsure what breed they are . Any ideas ?

Have they been de-beaked or is it just me - their top beak looks like my ex-bats? [IMG] Those're some beautiful girls you have there, i'm glad they've come to a nice home with someone who obviously cares about them [IMG]

Sometimes, people sell pullets for all the wrong reasons. I sincerely hope that isnt the case here.....

    They are beauties.

Debeaked ? I'm not really sure what that is ?

    What do you mean ?

The guy that sold them to me was having predator problems and was loosing a couple chickens per day so he decided to sell them off before they all got killed . He's going to rebuild his coop and run and just start over with new birds .

I got them from a small hobby farm .

Yep - look just like our red sex-links too - very nice hens and great layers! Debeaking is when they trim the top beak to discourage pecking.
