Oh yes thank you for the reminder. Rouens have two stripes and mallards have one. However, it isn't a 100% indicator as some rouens have mismarked stripes especially hatchery quality. A rouens second stripe might be very minimal or broken where it starts then stops.@AstroDuck , I am terrible with the difference between the two, but isn't there something about facial marking? Or is that only seen in the ducklings? The one vs two eye stripes?

The one vs two eye stripes?One is a Rouen and one is a mallard. Mallards have a smaller compact body weigh typically 2-3lbs and their tail tends to be in line with the body. Rouens stand taller weighing in around 6-8lbs and tails tend to swoop more. Both the same color, but very different breeds.
