I have a chick hatched yesterday with wry neck. It won't eat or drink even with help. I've been rubbing vitamin e on beak. It's very sleepy but energetic when it wakes. It can't stand. He'd tilts right back toppling it over. Any advice please.

Remember, a chick that has absorbed its yolk normally can live on that nutrition for at least 48 hours. To treat wry neck, I offer a vitamin supplement (like Poultry Nutri-Drench) by wetting a cotton swab and just touching the end of it to the chick's beak. In cases where deficiency is the cause of the issue, I've usually seen improvement within 48 hours.

If he hatched yesterday, he may just be very weak. If he's still in the incubator, placing him something like a paper towel-lined cup may help keep him upright until he's stronger.

Best of luck!

Thanks. She seems to be getting stronger. Managing to stand a bit now and starting to show an interest in food and water but still very clumsy. I'll have a look at getting some of that nutri-drench.
