    I have a goat problem....specifically a male goat problem.

I bottle fed this sweet little buck this past summer, raised him to be kind and respectful:)
Gave him 2 beautiful ladies and just recently a third.

He seems to be attracted to me now. What do I do to teach him not to jump up onto me? He's still not full grown, but when he is he'll be larger than me. Toggenburgs.

It seems that pushing him away only makes him want it more. (typical male)

Well..i've heard that you can correct them by pinching/pulling their ear a bit when they jump on you..
its kinda what another goat would do to correct them.. (i think...) [IMG]
Shoot him with a water gun/spray bottle when he does it?? [IMG]
    good luck!

  3. Well heck, I thought if you OWNED a goat you had a "goat problem".

I gave those critters up, they are just too " jump on your vehicle " and "poop on your porch" and "eat your favorite flowers" for me.

    Good Luck

I tried all but ripping his darned ear off. He didn't care. Then this morning he was a perfect gentleman again. I need to nip this in the bud.

I would not use pepper spray.

I HAVE used this to break up a serious (deadly) dog fight. The effects last a LONG TIME.

If I had this issue I might consider a cattle prod instead.

Carry a water bottle and spray him in the face. Or whack him across the nose. Pushing is just going to make things worse.

IDK...if some random guy was using me as his jump-on post....

But, cattle prod or taser might work.. [IMG]

pepper spray and tasers are illegal (I think) in NY. I'll have to check out the cattle prod.

I did beat him on the nose, upside the head and where ever else I could make contact....he seemed to like it.
My husband said "punch him in the head" but I'd be lucky to land a punch if he was standing still! I am not a hitter and I guess I hit like a "girl".

Really? You can't use pepper spray or a taser to protect yourself from predators in NY? Wow...here I would have thought those things would be mandatory!
