I have a Mallard Duck laying on my property!

    So... We have a momma duck laying on my property, we have a koi pond which might be the reason she chose here and my family and I have agreed shes not in the safest place... She is along our hedge line where we have a bush and shes under that and we are afraid thats not safe from other animals. We would like to help in any way possible! [​IMG]

    For domestic ducks, generally we recommend that if you cannot move the nest into the night shelter, to build shelter around the nest.

    Anything at this point is risky - too much disturbance and she could abandon the nest. No protection, and as a sitting duck, she can be taken by a predator.

    Just thinking out loud here - a couple of strand of electric fence around a several-foot wide perimeter may protect her.
