As I was cleaning the water container I noticed inside the walls and on the bottom dark black spots. They are not rust spots. It appears the galvanize silver color is rubbing off. It doesn't seem to affect the water. I'm wondering if it's our city water that causes this?

I have read threads about rust, but nothing pertaining to black spots.

Are you using ACV in the water?

No never have used ACV in this container and is only 5 months old. I just rinse it out with a little dish detergent.
