Hi, I have 6 eggs in an incubator. (homemade) and I am on day 18 (but I am calling it 17 since I put the eggs in incubator late in day 18 days ago.) Anywho, I candled my 6 eggs this morning 3 are large sized, 3 are regular sized. the 3 lg. eggs are all alive and dandy but growing slower than the others because of their size , meaning they have more fluid in them than the others. If you candle you can see through the eggs slightly near the top, veins and stuff. So I will not put them into lockdown tomorrow. The other 3 eggs will go to lock down in the new bator I whipped up, same size as the other. This is actually good, if one batch hatches faster now I have a heat light for them as well. I will put up pics of my bators soon. If you have questions I will try and answer them.[IMG][IMG]
this is Jan and Helene, EE/RIR mixes I hatched last month.

    Hey Gimmie birdies,

Is your incubator just a box, light, and a pan of water? No fan?
    Looks pretty cool.

Have you hatched in it before? I'll be watching the thread to learn the end results from this hatch.
    Thanks for posting the picts.

not water pan, going for a dry hatch- but if you look inside you can see a tiny water dish. day 18 still plenty of fluids in eggs almost ready to lock down
