Please help- my husband and I are nervous our Molly Ringwald is a Roo because none of our other girls have a bright comb and waddle!

It's a cockerel, but the plumage is odd for a male, as it has the black-tipped neck feathers, which is a female characteristic. Also the tail. Nice New Hampshires and Red Sex-Links, though.

Are you sure that bird is only 9-weeks old? I'd guess that's a red ranger if so.

I agree. The second picture does looks pullet-y, but too much comb for 9 weeks. I am surprised he isn't crowing. I wonder if he is one of those mixed gender birds that occasionally pop up.

We got them in the beginning/mid March from TSC... These were "sexed" but we know how that goes... We also got our other girls from the same bin

Mixed gender? I've heard of it, but what is it exactly?

I was wondering the age too. My RIR's didn't look near that big at 9 weeks. My RIR rooster started crowing at 8 weeks.

That's why we are so confused!

"She's" my favorite one too... If it's a Roo- we can't keep it due to regulations
