i just got 4 pigeons !!!!!!!!!

Pigeons will seek out a mate on their own and set up house-keeping. They don't need anything really fancy, just a cage that is secure against varmints, a simple nest box that is approx. 30" long, 12" deep and 12" tall. Divide the nest area in halve (15" X 12") as they usually lay a new clutch of eggs when the first babies are about two weeks old and put a horizontal board across the front( at least 3" high ) to keep eggs/ babies from falling out. I use a plastic milk or juice jug with an oval hole cut in the side about 3" up from the bottom for water. Pigeon grain is expensive to buy when you can find it so I usually just feed scratch grain altho I have found a grain that is mixed for game rooster's that contains several kinds of grains( wheat, milo, peas, etc.) that gives a better diet for pigeons. Also they need grit of some sort. Go to your library and they should have books that teach you all about raising pigeons. Good luck with your birds!
