This is my first run at keeping chickens. I started keeping them in the run 24/7 yesterday for other reasons but also to encourage them to use the nest box.
I heard someone singing and I ran outside to see if anyone laid but nobody had.[IMG]

One of them sort of squats if I put my my hand on her back. She doesn't hold her wings out but she doesn't kick up a fuss like the others do. So I don't know if that's technically squatting.

But I heard the egg song for the first time!!! I am just beside myself!! [IMG]

I don't want anyone else in this thread. I'm celebrating all on my own. [IMG][IMG] [IMG]

I have one that sings for no reason, too. LOL. My first one laying (and only one right now)

No egg song today. :( Maybe she's resting her vocals. Hopefully she'll have a big concert soon.

Just wait until you have a chorus of many hens singing. And if you have a rooster, he'll sing too.
