I just made a mistake.

I have two Indian Runners from Ideal. They don't stand as straight as "show quality" Runners. I love them just the same though.

As I was looking around BYC at all the beautiful Runners I learned that Holderread's Runners are "show quality" and stand up very straight. So (just because I'm curious) I went to the Holderread website.

    Big mistake.

I fell in love with the pic they have of a white Runner. *sigh* One of the prettiest ducks I think I've ever seen. And (surprisingly) their prices are about the same as the hatcheries I've looked at.

Ugh! Now I want to order white Runners from them. This must be the "duck math" I keep hearing about.

Maybe I should go ahead and start planning for a bigger flock. Lol.

[IMG] Welcome to our world - where 1 + 1 can easily equal 100 or 1000!

Ducks are like potato chips... nobody can have just one!

I agree! Ducks are my favorite. I LOVE to hatch and raise them. There is nothing more rewarding!

Hahahaha! I was just saying the other day "Ducks are like Doritos. You can't have just a handful." :)

I just recently realized that with my latest hatch I now have 29 ducks.

I raise Muscovy. But I raise mine for meat so they won't all stay for too long. But I plan on keeping a decent sized flock.

Neat! I raise runner/cayuga mixes! I am planning on eating one soon. I wonder what duck tastes like?

Honestly I've never had duck, only Muscovy which aren't true ducks. I'd check over on the meat birds forum.
