Sliding into That nastiest of holidays - V-day. (don't get me started) I am being bombarded by commercials and ads telling me that love is: jewelry and roses and candlelight dinners. Now, don't get me wrong, those things are all lovely and I enjoy them, but they aren't love. Here's what love is: It is -5 degrees and DH gets up at 4AM, bundles in seven layers of clothes and goes to work! He kisses me and his girls and he goes out in the dark and cold for us. That's love. I go out and get in my car and the tank is full. He got gas in cans and filled my tank, standing out in the cold 2xs!! (once to fill the cans and once to put it in my tank) So I wouldn't have to stand out once! That's love. He stands in the back of the hall, the only Dad at a girl scout cookie rally and claps for his little girls. That's love. I don't need $100 roses - I know love when I see it.
