Look what this tiny little thing gave me today. I get them often with the leghorn.
Who else loves the leghorn..there may already be a thread on them. Didn't see one, so, I am just putting this out there.

You know what...she may just be going into a broody mode. I had one leghorn go broody..only one after all of these yrs. She was great. Is she just laying in there for a while. I just had a leghorn/EE mix go broody. She would go in, lay for a while..on an egg she had laid. Then out finally. She did this for a few days. Also a SG that would go in, and out, no egg. Both are broody for now. Just watch your girl. If she is still eating and drinking, not just sitting all alone, or puffed up and not eating and drinking, then there is something going on. A month is quite a while....hmmm...

Here she is all puffed up, as she was in a nest box .. I now have her in a place I've had my broodies.

I think so...I have a friend that has a 6 yr. old. I have hatched them, and gotten them from the feed store. I just rotate my birds after a while though. Small flock. So, I want to keep in eggs on a reg. basis. I sell them around 18 months, so the person that gets them will have eggs for a while since that's what they are usually looking for in a hen. I hatch..what can I say..I hatch. I can rotate. I love to hatch. Did I say that already? :D

Hatching is fun! You may have mentioned it once.;)

That's good to know, all the info you just gave me. Thank you!:hugs
A fellow has hatching eggs about 30 minutes away. :celebrate And I have no white LF eggs. One carton can't hurt...am I right? :wee

I am raising 4 brown leghorn pullets, now 7 weeks. I got them because I heard that brown leghorns are great free rangers, good at evading predators. I really like and admire
