Watching them scratch in my yard and go skittering across the yard for no apparent reason just makes me smile. In fact, just thinking about their fluffy little butts makes me smile. They even get first dibs on my garden vegetables. Why did it take me so long to get chickens???!

I wonder the same thing all of the time!

They are so sweet and always happy to see me (or maybe it's to see what's in my hand...LOL)

When I was on vacation last week at the beach, I missed them. I couldn't wait to get home and hear their little noises.

Mine make me happy just by their happy sounds, their antics, watching them simply be chickens. If they never laid another egg I wouldn't be heart-broken. (Worried, maybe, because that would be odd.... But when they slow down and stop laying, I won't mind in the least.)

What's funnier than watching a Buff Orpington run? TWO fluffy-butt hens running!

It is relaxing to watch them and interact with them. A nice way to unwind after a long workday.

am I a dork for wanting to get a picnic table to put outside their run...by our garden??

the kids want to have picnics watching them "play"....and honestly; I'd like to be able
to sit after a bit of weeding/pickin' the garden...

but I really dont want to be by their coop/run sitting if it smells..ick..
