I made barred cochins(well their parents did)lol..But how?

I dont need the birds and bees talk. lol. I have buff, white/lemon, blue. and mottled(he passed) bantam cochins and somehow got barred babies from that group. Would you say I got them from Mottled roo/blue hen?? I gave some hatching eggs(cochins & others) to my step dad, and I could tell they were cochins right from the start(the leg fluff gave it away)but as they got older and their feathers started coming in , I noticed that they were Barred...I Will add pics later but I was wondering if anyone could confirm my theory or give me a clue as to how that happened...I would appreciate it

I don't know how you got it, odds are it had barred genetics hiding somewhere, barred Cochins did already exist.

I knew they already existed but I just didnt know what pairing made them.. It was a fun surprise

ya, that would be cool. Someone has barred genetics in your flock, well more than one bird, I would say they came from the blue bird

Your White could be masking barring under the white.

Barring is dominant so at least one of your birds will be showing it or masking it.
The white/lemon is the most likely to be masking barring, & barring canbe difficult to sê on blue or buff hens.
