I made my first egg sale today!

I'm so excited! 3.5 dozen eggs for a whopping $5.25 at the feed store, which I then just took off my bill because I was buying a bale of hay and a bag of layer pellets. HA!!! Who cares, it's just fun to sell eggs. The feed store people are extremely nice and generous folks. They buy them for $1.50 and turn around and sell them for $2.50, which works out for all, because I can't have people coming and going from the house all the time. Anyway, my hens are now starting to earn their keep. Oh boy, this is not good for my chicken math disease... my husband better watch out... I'm feeling the urge to splurge on a bigger better coop.

It's kind of funny, because people say - You aren't making enough $$ to even pay for their feed. But that's not the point. They were pets anyway. The fun thing is just having a hobby that people will pay you for.
