I work shift work (just woke up) and there is a adorable BCM half out of its shell. Also another Banty w/ the top of the egg off and some movement. Its technically day 20. I do nothing right? Just sit on my hands. When its out of its shell I still do nothing right? It can live for 72 hours w/ out food or water after 72 then I may have to intervene. Correct me if I am wrong on any of this because seeing this little guy got me all flustered!

Next hatch, I need to put a comfy lazy boy chair next to the bator all this time on my knees with my face up against it is making me feel old! 3 out, 2 more w/ cracks (are those zips or pips...I'm still not sure on that stuff) [IMG]

Pips are the first crack to make a hole. Zipping is the circular line chipped away from the pip, around the eggshell.

My husband and I love watching chicks hatch. Comfy chairs are always a good idea.

I'm right there with you. Have eggs that have pipped, but nothing else yet. Boy do my knees hurt, lol. I have had to tie my hands up so I don't open the bator! Good luck to you. (Now, back to my bator)[IMG]
