The wetness probably comes from drinking water.

Newborns' distance perception isn't the greatest. I've noticed mine would sometimes just about fall in the water head first when they drink. If they are not sneezing and acting sick, don't worry.

Chicks and chickens do sneeze occasionally. At their age and with being in the house I would think it pretty unlikely that they've caught something. Are they on pine shavings in the brooder? Pretty much any kind of bedding will have a little dust which makes them sneeze, even chick starter has some dust in it. If they are picking food out of the dirt all the more reason to sneeze once in a while.

Chicks and chickens sneeze as long as they dont have discharge, and are eating a drinking and playing and popping they are ok.
