I started gathering supplies for my homemade incubator to start, but I needed a egg turner and didn't want 2 spend alot of $$$.
I was wondering can chicks still hatch if you never turn them??

No, they need to be turned or they will only develop on one side. Just turn them by hand.

Well the good thing about making a homemade Incubator is it leaves room for change. My turner is actually an old broken hoe handle and a basket from a dollar shop with a few zip ties holding it in place. Take a look at all the members homemade bators and get Ideas and adapt to fit your needs.

If you don't have a turner, you will need to turn the eggs. I would turn them around 7 am, 3pm and 11pm. Also I would put an X on one side of the egg and an O on the other side of the egg and always turn the eggs in the same direction so that at 7am all of the X's are up, at 3pm the O's are up and 11pm the X's are up. Then the opposite the next day. You may be able to find a turner on Craigslist and maybe try http://www.usfreeads.com/, http://www.american-classifieds.net/. Just my suggestions.

Here are a couple of pictures a friend of mine took to illustrate.
