Any successful method or advice would be great, like when to order chicks.( i live in NY). I'm getting two silkies a mille fleur, and a standard and bantam ameraucana. Im using a dog kennel as a brooder. What advice can u give me to make my experience better with my chicks?

Hi there i would say your off to a great start just make sure they have food water and a Brooder Lamp to keep warm and you should be set the only other thing i can really say is if you want them to be friendly towards you when there older pay lots of attention to them now and they will follow you forever good luck!

Hi. I got my chicks several weeks ago now, and I have chickens for the first time since I was a teenager growing up on the farm (that was about 20 years ago), and I forgot to get grit for them at first. They need grit to grind food as they have no teeth. Don't do like I did and forget the grit. [IMG] good luck with your new babies!!
