I typically only get cards on my birthday and for Christmas. My brain immediately thought it was a birthday card since it isn't Christmas. I had to remind myself that my birthday is in February. It turns out the card was from someone I didn't know who lived in a place I have never been. It was really weird. Then I opened it and was greeted with sticky doily paper. Without even looking at the card I said, "It's a wedding invitation. Weird." My first thought wasn't, "So I'm invited to a wedding? Better RSVP!" It was, "I think they sent it to the wrong person. I'll have to let them know." It turns out the card was for my older cousin's wedding. The bride's parents sent the cards. I was actually rather touched when I discovered the card was for me. I didn't know my older cousin thought so much of me to actually invite me to his wedding. (To be honest I didn't even know he had a girlfriend.) I made sure to send my RSVP to let them know I couldn't make it, but wished them a wonderful day. I just find it amusing that my first thought was the invitation was meant for someone else. I said I was going to frame it since it was the first time I had ever been invited to a wedding. This last Saturday I also received an invitation to a graduation party which was another first. I do at least get to attend the graduation. I groaned when I realized I was going to have to find something other than jeans and a t-shirt to wear though. I immediately asked, "Can I wear jeans and a button up?"
