i somehow acquired 2 runaways and i have questions. please help

beauties! all of them.
Thank you. The little cockerel was so sweet that I let them out and I started to pet him so he jumped in my lap and just layed down. I cried like a baby that night when I got home because the 2 of them were the sweetest little chicks.

This is Whiner. He was so adorable and sweet but then he made the worst mistake ever so he had to go.

i never saw the whole thing and was trying to piece it together in my head. i get it now! ado you have timber reinforcing the big run?
Until recent the netted run had two separate compartments.
I build the first run with a gazebo or party tent frame for 6 Dutch bantams. The second followed several years later when I had few more chickens and it got a bit crowded in the 9m2 with broodies and chicks. This second run was made with wood to fit in the space. It had an opening i could close, and I used that option whenever I had chicks.

The hwc in the ground rusted last year and i had to repair some hwc at ground level and took away the hwc rests between the 2 runs.

The netting I used is strong netting for birds of prey and reinforced cat netting (for balconies) .

I have an inconvenient opening (net door with bamboo sticks) in the party tent, which i opened only once every week /two weeks. On the other side is a normal run door.

The runs are not very safe (not at night) therefore i installed auto pop doors between the coops and the run.

As you can read, this chickens setup is a forever ongoing project ;)
i put two of the panels from the old little run to cover the space between the two roofs, but it makes it really difficult to open the run door. i have to push the panels up to open the door enough to get in. it's not my favourite.
if you post a few photos, handling it to open /close , maybe I or other members could give a tip how to make a change to make it easier to open /close?

i learned about the forever ongoing project early on with the small run/polytunnel/new run/etc. lol! it never ends.
thanks for all the info!

i'm sure it's an easy fix for the between roofs. i only have the roof on the gazebo thing because of the lockdown. i made my husband take the roof off this morning because we are having a big storm and it would surely blow off. (my husband was not very happy because the storm is already here and he was out there trying to get the roof off 😂)
i took a pic from inside the house because i have to go to an appointment and i don't want to be outside and get soaked
i would just need to raise it where it's slanted down. so maybe something across the gazebo to hold it up. which will be easier without a roof. the panels were just a quick fix.
there's surely a better way. if it would only ever stop raining.

also! in that pic, you can see the house behind me with the wide open window! that's why i was worried about the chickens being too loud.
but seriously?!
WHY IS THE WINDOW WIDE OPEN? AT ALL TIMES?
we're getting 80kmp winds today. CLOSE THE WINDOW!
it makes me very tense.😂😂😂
