The Chicken Lady and her DH bought a house in the country! [IMG]

We close on it this afternoon. [IMG]
I didn't want to say anything about it on BYC until I knew for sure that it would be "official."

Here is a pic of our first home:

The coop will be somewhere in the backyard so that I can watch "chicken TV" from the patio.

You can't really tell because I was standing in the middle of the backyard to take that picture, but the back property line is up against a cornfield. [IMG]

    Quote:Yup... It's zoned agricultural-residential.

When we sat down with our buyers' agent to talk about what we wanted in a house, that was one of the first things I said. I think that he hasn't had a buyer tell him, "I need a house where I can have chickens," before. [IMG]

Oh awesome Back up to a cornfield. Maybe they won't care if your birds go free ranging in there. Oh the possiblities.
