I borrowed a friends Truck & horse trailer for our big show this past weekend. I loaned another friend my trailer to use. I brought the trailer I borrowed back, it was washed, cleaned out, horse poo cleaned out and fresh shavings added, I also cleaned and vacuumed the truck and washed it.

The "friend" who borrowed my trailer got the trailer in good condition, with fresh clean shavings in it. I got it back filthy and full of horse poo

She will never borrow it again, it just highly irritates me to loan something out and get it back in worse shape than before. I always respect other peoples property and try to return it better than before. I did not get my borrowed trailer dirty on the outside (he parks it under a tree at home) but I still felt it my obligation to clean it. The person that borrowed mine has called me a couple times and I havn't even taken the phone call cause I am sooooo

Sometimes people can be so oblivious. She's probably calling you to say Thanx! and tell you what a great time she had not even clicking that she did the biggest borrowing NO-NO.

We frequently borrow tools from my hubby's buddys and we always take them back in AT LEAST the same condition we received it in. This assures that whenever we need that wet saw or cement mixer, it'll be ready for us.

I would answer and just flat out say, "Thanks a lot for bringing it back full of poo. Now I get to spend a couple hours cleaning all that $%&* outta there" then add a little laugh at the end. She won't know if your joking or P-oed but she'll get the hint!

 I would be so

also that is a shame that your friend would do that to you.

I would give it a little bit before you confront her about it so that you have some time to cool down a bit.

I hear you. I wish mine was just as bad as being about poop, though! hehe Well, I guess in the grand scheme of thing, mine always goes back to a big bunch of poop, too, but only figuratively!

I hate when people don't respect and appreciate someone elses kindness and I hate it when people take advantage of others under the guise of being "friends". You should treat them better than you would a stranger, not worse!

Shame shame shame on your friend.

Big kudos to you.

We used to have to rent a trailer. He charged a cleaning deposit, if it came back clean you got your deposit back. After 2-3 times we didn't have to leave a deposit. He did mention that there were one or two that he wouldn't ever rent to again.

I would be tempted to call her on it as well. My sarcasm intensifies when I'm aggravated and that will often get my point across. Or, just drive back over to their house and say, Hey, you forgot the other half of your horse in my trailer, how bout removing it?
And remind her that you have plenty of recycled hay of your own, don't need to add hers to the pile!!!

The person may be calling to apologize for the dirty truck, maybe something came up and he/she was'nt able too and felt bad about it. Have you loaned to this person before and had same results?

. I know it can be frusterating when you go out of your way to treat folks the way you want to be treated and this is the outcome.
