I think I may want to keep Baal as a breeding dog..

It has been years since I have shown dogs in conformation but if things haven't changed then this is the perfect time of year to get your feet wet showing. This time of year many clubs have "puppy matches" They are pretty informal and you can get an idea about what all is involved.
Go to a match and check things out. They should have vendors there too and you can get free samples and check out the collars and leads that are used in the show ring.
Look them up online and check it out. Let us know what you think about it!

I know what you're saying about the AKC. It sucks in a way, but that's the way it is. I much prefer the german lines.
I love my GSDs for what they are and who they are; not interested in showing. What they are doing right now - one sleeping on each side of me at the desk - is all I want. They are my protectors.
The exercise and training we do with them is for their benefit as much as mine.
Your boy is very handsome.

Does anyone here do schutzhund?

I am interested in it, it looks like a lot of fun!

I don't, but I know several people who have, including one guy with a Patterdale terrier! LOL. This place is only about twenty minutes from my house. You can see it from the freeway and they stay busy and are really well known all over.

I have dabbled in Schutzhund and done French Ring (another dog sport involving bitework, obedience and agillity). I am looking in to a SchH club right now for a summer project with my Foenix. He's BH ready right now and could go SchH 1 by fall with very little work. Just a clean up of his obedience (make it flashier and more stylized) and get him on the arm sleeve instead of leg sleeve.

I have some bitework pics of my dog and also obedience clips if you'd be interested in seeing.
