Yes, you are crazy. But I strangely envy you, so what does that make me? [IMG]

What space do you have for all that? How many chicken in all? How many coops?

Now, it is your turn to rate my own sanity:

I live in a suburban neighborhood, and our property has approximately 9000 square ft (90'x100'). I bought my first 9 hens (commercial hybrid layers) in June 2008, I got 20 chicks (pure breed layers) last April and 12 meat chicks yesterday. Actual total count with the deaths and the culling: 26 chicken. [IMG] [IMG]

I built a big coop in June 2008, a brooder cage last April, a big chicken tractor and a mini coop with run in May, a rooster pen under the house in June, a homemade incubator in July and a medium size coop yesterday. I intend to get 20 more chicks of different pure breeds next March and I want to try to incubate my own fertilized eggs (most probably cross breeds). [IMG]

    So, doctor, your diagnosis? [IMG]

Most likely we are all on some level of the crazy scale.... we are here, right?? [IMG]

I started out with 12 hens and now I have around 50 chickens and chicks of four different breeds, plus several mutt bantams.

We are all crazy. Just ask any non-chicken people!
