I think my chicken is dead

I just went outside to go feed my two hens and I look I see a lot of feathers but the coop opening door and no sight of my chicken. I see one but the other one is no where to be found. I searched all around the area and she’s not there. I’m freaking out bc they sleep with the coop door open

She probably got caught by a predator, as leaving the coop door open is like an invitation to a free meal for any predator. I am sorry.

I am sorry for your loss. If this leaves you with only 1 chicken, you may want to start thinking about getting another hen about her age. You one girl will be grieving and lonely. She will probably spend the day looking for her sister and may cry.

Yeah probably bc the feathers looked like hers. I’ve been at school for a while now but hopefully my parents find her but then she’s probably dead

My parents are gonna tell me that she’ll be fine or they’ll make me give her up. She was crying that’s how I found out that the other is missing. If I can’t find her by tonight then Im saying shes dead

Happened to me with my duck, she disappeared because the door was open, and it was the one and only time I was careless enough to not close it. she was gone the next day without a trace.
