We were told we were getting a serama, russian orlof, and a cuco moran (maybe spelled wrong?) And they were all girls. My research has found gender and species wrong for sure on one, wrong breed on another. Was also told bigger ones were 6 months and little one was 9 months. .. soo what do we really have? Help please!
Thanks you :)

Gold i think is a buff black tailed Japanese bantam roo
White spotted brown i think is actually a speckled susex?

What color legs does the supposed cuckoo maran have, and what type of comb? Looks to be a pullet. Could you get a better picture of the little buff bantam? I don't know what breed, and not sure on gender because of the lack of accurate age.

The other one does appear to be SS and most likely cockerel.

Are his/her saddle feathers pointy? Hard to see them well in the pic. Appears to be a hen, if actually nine months. Could just be singing the "egg song".

I believe the barred is a Cuckoo Marans, and a pullet. The speckled sussex I am not sure gender wise.

Home! Better pics :D
I have found no egg today if it is an egg song :/ i can make hubby hold the gold one when he gets home. It is fast lol

Egg song doesn't necessarily mean you'll get an egg, but often that the hen will lay soon. I'm not sure on that chicken's gender, so it could just be some other noise.

Also thinking that the Marans is not a Marans, but a Barred Plymouth Rock. The legs are too yellow for a CM.

Ah, ok! In regards to egg song.
Do hens do the weird next stretch things roosters do when crowing? Or is that neck stretch only a boy thing?
Any thoughts on SS? Got the better comb pic.
And the feathers down the neck of the little golden one do seem more pointed than round :(

If a hen was crowing, she would do the 'neck stretch'. Feathers on the neck are always more pointy on both genders. I was thinking more the saddle feathers than hackle. On a female those should be round, and on a male, pointy.

I'm not sure on the SS. The comb seems more pullet like. What are his/her saddle feathers like?

I think the buff one is a rooster. I think I can see some male feathering on the back, near the tail, and in the upper part of the wings/shoulders. But i would need better, closer-up pictures of the back, saddle feathers, and hackle feathers. I think the other two are hens, but I think the cuckoo marans is actually a barred rock. I have both breeds, a hen of each(both about 3 years old) and I can get pictures of them later today to help you determine what your chick is, but from what I can tell, it's a barred rock.
