So this beauty has been VERY loud lately. She/ he walks around sounds like yelling or screaming..... What do you all think? What type and do you think it may be a rooster?

I'm not 100% sure on breed. Maybe partridge something, but I'm entirely sure what. How old is the bird? It looks like a laying (or close to it) pullet to me.

It's a pullet. Looks like a partridge Rock.

I think she is just at 5 months. She hasn't started laying, but like I said is Very, very loud. I've never heard a hen sound like this. She'll pretty much do all through out the day.

She may settle down once she starts laying. Or not. Some hens just like to be heard.

Yep, pullet and I believe keesmom is right on breed as well. Some hens are just plain vocal. She'll probably sing real good for you when she's laid an egg. It looks like she may be getting pretty close to laying too. Nice looking bird! [IMG]

My pullets always get noticeably louder in the days before they lay. She may be getting ready to start soon.

Agree it's a partridge Rock pullet.

Hens like this are what always makes me cringe when folks want "quiet hens" because they're not allowed to have birds where they live. I've had hens that make far more noise than a rooster [IMG]

I was just asking because I have never heard a hen be this noisy! I'm big on not bothering my neighbors, it's kind of like having a barking dog!

Thank you all for your input. :)
