I want to make sure my call duck isn't going to get sick.

I am going to have two or one call duck soon for 4H but I want to make sure my babies (I mean call ducks) don't get sick. How do I do so? Do they get sick easily? I have healthy birds that eat lots of bugs. Do you think they'll be fine in a small pond to share with my other ducks? Do you think they will be fine with cold weather?
