I am brand new to raising quail. What supplies do I need?

Incubator?
Coop?
Feeders?
Waters?

Please help! Message me or 256-347-1884

If you're starting with eggs, you'll need an incubator. If you're starting with chicks, you'll need a brooder (a spacious box, which can be as fancy as you want to make it- with a heat lamp for warmth), a feeder, drinker and a high protein (20% or so) crumble.
Quail babies are tiny when they hatch, so shallow quail drinkers are a good investment. When they outgrow their brooder, they'll need a coop that is appropriately sized for the number you have. When I had quail, I only had a quad, they lived in a hutch that was somewhere around 5ft long x 3ft wide x 2ft high. They also had a FULLY ENCLOSED run. The top was a necessity. I had one pop out of the hutch once, and it immediately flew off into the woods. I didn't get it back. If your run doesn't have a top, they'll be gone.
There is a quail section on BYC, you should go there and do some reading.
I loved my quail, and I'll have them again soon. I just need some incubator space and I need to modify one of my current hutches. Good luck to you!
