Hi I would be glad of your expertise ladies and gentlemen! My chicks are 15 weeks old. I want to rehome 3. I have 3 Buff Rocks, 2 Black Austrolorps, and 1 Speckled Sussex (Ronni). I am sure about my Buff Rock rooster, but I'll show his pic anyway. I am wondering about the larger of the 2 black austrolorps. AND I'm so sad, but I've begun to question Ronni's (speckled) gender! Ronni is not especially large, but does have back feathers that point up a bit. None of them crow.

Here are some pics of Ronni.

Here's the big austrolorp. S/he's also shown (backside) in the middle above:

Uh, and this is Augustus. I really have no questions about him, just love him and want to show a pic:

I am leaning towards cockerel for Ronni, but not really sure. The rest are pullets (other than Augustus).

So you think the big black one is also a pullet?

    So sad about Ronni.

Ronni is 100% a pullet. She would be showing very obvious rooster feathers and a bigger body and comb similar to Augustus if she were a cockerel at this age.

The only male I can see is handsome Augustus.

He is rather handsome, isn't he? And he knows it... That cockiness (pun intended) is half the reason we were sure early of his gender.

Looking at the pictures, I guess Ronni is a pullet too. Congrats!

Thanks all! Ronni is a lovely hen laying eggs almost daily. You all were right, only that one rooster!
