I was doing a little work on the roof of the run with the chicks running around my feet. I had to stop and put my rain boots on because they were pecking the heck out of my ankles and I had a bug bite scab that was attracting far too much attention

Now, I know they're just curious little dinosaurs but I swear that if I passed out in there, I'd awake to realize I was missing parts!

if I plan on going out to the coop for longer than a quick check in, I have learned the hard way that flip flops with toes visible is not a good idea!
And I also have a cockerel that will not stand in front of me, he stands behind me and pecks at the back of my pant legs!

Things my daughter has learned are bad in the chicken coop:

painted nails
earrings
rings - ok, any shiny jewelry
rivets, including the rivets in regular denim jeans
zippers
shoe strings
bug bites or scabs of any kind
lip gloss
barrettes or shiny hair clips

Stupid lil buggers eat EVERYTHING!!!

HAHA did she have rivets on the back pockets too? I did and then squatted down to talk to the chickens and someone pinched me!

The buckles on my sandals are extremely popular items, as are my toes. When these little raptors are fully grown, it'll be closed-toe shoes (OK, probably ugly Crocs) in the coop!
