Ideal chicks arrived today - 15 packing peanuts

Received my order of 10 pullets this morning. Included in the order were 15 packing peanuts. Any idea what type of chicken they are (the yellow ones with the blueish harry potter mark on the head)? Going to need find a home for all those peanuts.

All the chicks arrived alive and only one or two seemed to be a little less vigorous than the others.

It is very possible that I am mistaken but I believe the blue mark is just food dye, to differentiate between your order and the extras.

That sounds right as I asked them to mark the males.

Probably white Leghorns. Those boys don't tend to sell, you know...

Figured as much. Trying to give them away - but not too hopeful.

You could just raise them until they're big enough and then eat them. That's what I would do.

I'll raise them until one crows. Then, it will be time to butcher them. We'll see if the kids are on board. If not, then they may have to go to someone's "farm."

Posted a craigslist ad, and someone already offered to take them all to raise for the crockpot.

Well that was lucky! At least you don't have to spend any extra on feeding them. Lol, my daughter is only 4 and I have already talked about that with her, we have 10 RSLs for that purpose. She seemed to take it quite well, we'll see what she thinks about it when it comes time to do the deed... glad you got rid of them so fast!
