I went to an auction a few days back and bought five mystery chicks. 4 are identical and one has a a very pretty pattern, but I have no clue what it is. I believe the 4 who look alike may be Silver spangled hamburgs? I also realize they could all be mutts, but I figured it might be fun to try to guess [IMG] Thanks in advance for your oppinions!

The First pick is of the four who are identical and the second is the oddball.

Upon further research I think the single chick may be an exchequer leghorn, I found tons of chick pics that look just like him/her [IMG] Thanks everyone for your input!

It is difficult if not impossible to tell the breed of a chick. Many chickens have the same color patterns but are different breeds.

I have what I think is a Barred Rock that looks like the one in the first picture. She has a white head and breast but the barred/black pattern on her wings and tail also.

this is a BR roo...(from a year ago), mostly dark colored...white spot on head and white barring on wings.
    .
they are dark colored on the heads, not light, like yours...
way too much white on yours, I am curious too what they are.
