linear/oval kind of shape
rounded ends, though there is a hint of a little 'point' at the tip of the rounded end, sorta like where the 'loaf' was 'pinched'
deposited at night
no signs of digging
no footprints
left in the sand in the shelter, outside the huge cage/fortress our ducks are in
only one or two are left at a time
looks to me like pcupine. but there are no spaces large enough for one to crawl through--i don't think. the ducks are noisy at night, so they are heard by.................whatever, though they are quite safe in the fortress.
any guesses?
