I had several small staggered hatches last week and need help with some of the babies. I had d'uccle eggs only 2 made it out of 8 they were Eggs from self-blue, and Mille. One baby was born dark, and the other was buff. Any idea's what to expect as adult coloring, doesn't look like I got a blue.

top one sure looks porcelain, bottom is black or cuckoo looks like, if the top of the head has a light color patch, which it kind of looks to have, it will most likely be a barred bird of some form. Top is porcelain for sure though, black one will need to feather a bit more to be sure
definatley aint blues or millies though, s. blues come out powdery blue, and millies are a dark buff/brown mix

They are suppose to be pure bred. However I've never seen picture's of baby buff colored Mille Fluers. I guess I can expect this one to be brown when mature, and the black one? what can I expect his adult feathering to be..Will he turn into self blue? which is really what I wanted. I've noticed this breed come's in many color variations.

I actually kinda answered my own question, a google image search reveled many Buff mille babies. Every time Id see someone posting their Mille baby pictures here..they always seemed dark in color..so when this buff one popped out I was surprised. Image search cleared it up & reveled many chicks in different color variation .

    They sure are cute.

Thank you boggy bottom, I didn't see your post til after I posted mine. Ok so the black will not be the blue, but likely something else other then a Mille. Little buff will be porcelain...should be interesting to see what the black chick will reveal thou. They both have the same feather placement. like feathered feet, and feathering at the elbow, very adorable.

nope he wont be brown, he's porcelain, a very pale cream and lavender mottled color pattern, google porcelain and you'll see. And yes, true millies are a darker brown to dark buff mix of colors

No way the other one will be self blue, like I said earlier, it's too early to tell for sure if he's black, barred, or color crossed, post another pic once he feathers up a bit, and I can tell you for sure
