Identifying help please?

    I picked up an order from Ideal Hatchery yesterday. I have 2 pictures to show you. I TRIED to group chickies who looked similiar together. These SHOULD be either Black Austrolorp or Cuckoo Marans. Can anyone help?

    Far to young still. 5-6 weeks is about the youngest can determine with any accuracy.

    Marans have feathered legs and feet, you should see tiny feathers along the outer side of legs and outside toe.

    Cuckoo Marans will have a white dot on their heads and Australorps will look a lot a like, but without the dot.

    With any accuracy, yes. Many, many, many breeds start out black.

    I didn't order NJG's. I think the 2nd picture then must be the Marans. They DO have a dot on their heads and I did order 3 pullets.

    To further confuse things, I also ordered 3 assorted rare breed pullets so maybe one IS a NJG.
