if a chick hatches early is it going to survive? another ? on page 2

i have a chick hatching on day 19 its late on day 19 so will it be normal or will it be defored? will it survive?

It could be okay, or it might not have absorbed all of it's yolk yet, don't rush it. Chicks can take 48 hours from pip to zip without a problem.

When hatching eggs natures way (i.e. with a broody hen), the timing varies. Mother nature is not always that scientific. So, I would think that an early incubator hatch wouldn't neccessarily be a bad thing.
I have only hatched chicks using a broody hen.

I had 1/2 of my last hatch bust out of their shells on day 19, the rest on day 20. They all (cochin banties) are doing great. I had one game hen hatch on day 20, but it had it's belly button popped out. She's the only one out of 18 that didn't make it.

the eggs were eggs i won from a contest by gamebirdsonly so they are "designer eggs"

I think it is normal to have a hatch any where from 19-23-24 days.Most of the hatches that I have had over the last 1yr of hatch have been started on day 19.

I have had eggs hatch on day 19/20 with no problems.
