If my ambient humidity is 48%/ okay for my bator humidity to be 52%?

I added too much humidity on my last hatch and killed my pipping chicks last time. This time I'm trying to do it better but more towards a dry hatch. Tommorrow is lockdown. I live in the south at about 640 feet above sea level and the humidity is pretty high right now. My bator humidity ranges from 35-55% depending on when I put water in. I don't want to drown anybody if I haven't already. Any advice?

First off, the temp and humidity will vary greatly right after you put the eggs in so don;t pay attention to those levels until about 6 hours after setting them. Also start with a minimal amount of water and after those 6 hours, increase if needed. If your humidity is high right now you may want to shoot for 40-45%.

That's what I was thinking. Tomorrow is lockdown so I don't want to open the bator. I think that's what I'm going to go for too.
