If there is a fence, you just have to get inside. Right?

I worked in the duck run (in the raised beds) today. The rhubarb in the one bed is coming up (surprisingly -figured the ducks had noodled the crowns to death), so I fenced the bed. Of course, put the fence up , and now all six ducks have been walking around and around and around the bed trying to figure out how to get in....ever since I put the fence up. They weren't interested in the bed before, but now it's the only place they want to be in the 30 by 35 ft run! Poor duckies are

!!!

Earlier I herded them all over the the vegetable garden that I was turning to mix in the composted ducky bedding, and they would have none of that. Wanted to run off into the woods instead - even with freshly turned dirt to noodle in.

So much for earning their keep by eating the bugs in the veggie garden! For some reason they were spooked being over there....maybe because I was turning over the area with a pitchfork and it scared them?
