I have a serama rooster indoors and his crow sounds hoarse and he seems to be congested and sneezing or making some sort of noise and when he sleeps he sounds like he is wherezing. I have used humidifier and it does not see my help any. Can seramas be vaccinated ?

Hello there and welcome to BYC! [IMG]

Sorry about your boy. Sounds like he has a respiratory ailment going on. A humidifier will not help him and he will need antibiotics. Definitely post this question in our emergency section for more help with him. I hope he makes a full recovery. :)

Welcome to BYC! Yes, Seramas can be vaccinated. However, a vaccination prevents a disease, it doesn't not cure an infected bird. I'm not sure what your bird could have and I recommend you post it in the emergencies and diseases section. I hope your rooster gets well! :)

I was wondering about the vaccinations because I had read bantams cannot be vaccinated at certain times and seramas are so tiny I was unsure if safe to vaccinate. My outdoor chickens are all vaccinated. He lives indoors in my house. I have him on antibiotic now as of earlier this evening after consulting with friend of a vet for farm animals. He seemed a little better before I started antibiotic. I am hopeful for a recovery. He is eating well and is still active at this point. Thank goodness! Thank you for info on vaccines. I will get them vaccinated asap when he is well I will vaccinate him.
