Illinois Ordinances

    I live in Illinois and am trying to figure out if I am allowed to keep backyard chickens in my town. Any suggestions of how to find this information?

    Try checking with city ordinances, b/c it varies with each city.

    I know I can have chickens in my town.....must be 75 ft from nearest living residence.

    do a google search for your town name and "ordinance" and you can often find the whole thing on line. Then search in the "land use" section and "animals" sections if there is one. If the file you find has a search function, input "poultry" "chickens" "hens" "fowl" "livestock" and see what you can find...
