I'm baaaaaaaack!!

Hey folks! I haven't been here in a while. I have to say I missed it. Last I was here I had started out with 5 chickens...now I'm in the 30s. I have the breeds I have been wanting for a while (Salmon Faverolles), some Easter Eggers, Wyandotes, and now 8 silkie babies. I love them all! So I have to ask...are there any tricks to sexing Silkies? They are much different than all the other babies I've raised. I've been able to tell the sex of all the others...but these boogers have me stumped.

Silkies usually cant be sexed for 4-5 months.The male's topknot will get "streamers" hanging down from it. The males may also get reddish coloring in their shoulders/wing area.

The Roosters will crow and the hens will lay eggs. Thats how I can tell.

He is a booted bantam/game mix. He is so tiny compared to all the others.
