I'm confused!...

    Does a hen have to have laid before it can become broody...or is it purely a hormonal thing that can be triggered in a bird too young to lay because of another broody hen??? Kinda like feramones in women if you get what i'm saying.

    somone must know out there.......

    I think my silkies went broody before she laid, but the rest of my standards started laying first before becoming broody.
