What does elk taste like? I like venison, but only prepared certain ways...

Yummmmmy! The last time I had elk, it was deliciously spiced swedish meatballs. I can't afford the gas to drive to my cousin's place in Wyoming tho... Enjoy!

Elk tastes just like chicken! [IMG][IMG], nah, it's like leaner, tastier venison to me. I tenderize it by the beating the heck out of it, and using fresh ground sea salt and fresh ground pepper,, oh, did I mention I grind all my spices? Anyway, I can't really describe it, it sure tastes better than store bought beef though.

I think that is quite rude to brag about your elk, unless you have enough for eveyone

elk is the best im a huge beef eater but elk is better, its been soooo long since ive had any elk,ive got deer in the yard (they come in to eat the apples)but no elk
id even accept some jerky you could send that in the mail

Quote:I'll be making jerky too,, but probably not until after deer season next month. I try and do all my jerky at one time because it uses so much propane unless I use the really big electric oven.

I'll try to brag in a whisper.........

    Quote:So wait a sec...

You didn't walk the hills flat...

    You didn't clean it...

You didn't pack it out a 1/4 at a time on your back...uphill...both ways...

All you have to do is eat it?

    Nice friends you got there.

Worst thing you can ever hear in elk camp: "Got one, come help me tote it out"
