I'm new here and needs lots of tips from Chicken owners please.

I've already submitted a question, but lm so new here l probably made a mess of it....so here goes again if 1 of my chucks lays an egg should l remove it...or will another hen lay an egg beside it??? only got my chucks 2 weeks ago.

If these eggs are eating eggs, then you need to remove them as soon as possible. If you have a rooster, the hens will not set on them until they are broody. You will know they are broody when they growl at you when you look in on them in the nest box and they don't want to come out.

But still you want to remove the eggs until you are sure you have a broody on your hands so the eggs don't get broken. At first you can leave some fake eggs under her to keep her broody. Then after a couple of days, replace the fake eggs with some freshly laid real ones for her to incubate. :-)
 
Ive no roosters at all only the 4 girls, but l only get 1 egg per day and dont know which 1 laid it coz they look identical, when will l get 4 eggs each day, or am I expecting too much? I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to me...lm a real learner at this game lol

Collect fresh eggs daily. If you are wanting to make your hens lay in the nests put some fake eggs in there. Real eggs collecting leads to breakage, egg eating and spoiling.

It's good to gather eggs as soon as laid when possible. If they are around too long they may get broken and chickens soon learn they are tasty. Egg eating is a hard habit to break, and one chicken teaches another.

Since you have no rooster, you don't have to worry about hatching or incubation. But, IF one of your hens goes broody, you could buy fertile eggs (of any breed) and put them under her. She would hatch them as her own. It's a good way to get new breeds without the hassle of incubation.
