Hi, I'm relatively new to raising chickens. I raised 24 (as a bundle, it was epic) when I was a kid, and now I'm raising two chickens with my kids. The chickens we have are a mystery breed--possibly red sex link? They're super layers, each laying an egg almost every day since they were 4-5 months old. They're 2 years old now; we adopted them at 10 days old. They were the best pandemic mother's day gift I didn't know I needed.

I love taking care of them, and have helped them through injuries, cold snaps, and heat waves.

Observing animals is far and away my favorite hobby. I also like to make things when I make...the time.

Along with the hens, we have a 2 y.o. boxer/pit mix who is bananas, but very protective of her chicken friends. And my oldest son has 2 guinea pigs.

I found this site through researching chicken questions, and almost always find an answer. I don't know anybody else who's raising chickens, so I don't have anyone to ask for advice.

Thank you!

I get that. I can comfortably sit on a bucket and watch my Ducks like a comedy TV show for hours.
