Hello!!!! I'm and new to the site! I currently have 4 layers and a rooster. And I have 18 in the incubator and the first is making sounds!!! I've been ready everyone's feeds and let me just say thank you because I had no idea I was doing it wrong!!!! The books don't tell you everything! :)

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I hope your hatch goes well. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

I have Rhode Island Reds and Bantams!!!!

Rhode Island Reds are a good, hardy, dependable, good laying breed. Just don't keep more than one rooster as the RIR roosters can be particularly aggressive. The recommended ratio in any breed of roosters is 1 rooster for every 10 hens, and with RIRs it's especially important not to exceed that ratio. Good luck with your flock.
