My nine week old silkie lives in the coop with my big girls and his/her brooder mates. They've been in the coop for a few weeks and everybody else was roosting except for my silkie. I hadn't had time to build a ladder for him to get to the low roost. I went into the coop this morning and he was on the roost all by himself! I'm so proud, I knew he could do it if he just tried! Yay! [IMG]

Wow way to go for you and your lil Silkie. I wise my Silkies would go to bed on their roosts; they just sleep on the floor. At first I thought the roosts were too high for them but then I would go out during the day and find them jumping from roost to roost for fun. So I know now that they can get up to them, they just don’t know that they are for sleeping not playing. I really don’t know what to do, I have put each on the roosts just before bed and gone out later after dark to check on them and they are always back on the floor sleeping.
